Buying a ..

breastpump.
I couldn't bring myself to type that into the subject line. Smile

When I breastfed our DD I tried an electric pump and hated it. So I didn't pump. I'd like to try again.
Looking at buying a manual breastpump. I've been reading reviews online. I know there are a lot of mommies on SA so does anyone have a recommendation?

I liked the Avent pump...but that was 7 years ago, I'm not sure if they're still around or if they have changed.

Yeah, I use an electric breastpump and I don't care for it. It feels dehumanizing. Frown Unfortunately, my girl doesn't like small, frequent meals, so if I breastfeed her during the day and evening, when my supply is lower, she gets really fussy. So I'm almost exclusively pumping, except some mid-night and early-morning occasions. I'm at least getting so accustomed to it that I don't mind it as much.

The best thing about the electric pump is that it works really fast, so 10 minutes tops and I'm done with both sides (it's a double pump). I think a manual one would take longer, but I've never tried one so I don't know.

    Thanks for your comments!
I am thinking about the Avent pump, it has gotten good reviews. And costs about $35. We used Avent bottles with DD and have several new Avent bottles for DS.
