Somewhat Disappointed

Received an email Friday from the company I had the phone interview with last week.

They said they are hiring someone internally for the position.

I did feel disappointed when I read the email.
Not terribly crushed or anything. But the disappointment I felt made me realize I was hoping for this more than I actually thought.

I'll just keep pluggin' along as usual for now.

    Keep looking for opportunities, as I think that says you are ready to move on from your current position.

    I've always found those type of advertised jobs so frustrating because they're 'wired.' External applicants are merely comparative. In many instances there is some kind of government funding/top up that triggers 'open competition.' CCF makes an important point. Another benefit is realizing your credentials top the list. Finally, the experience gained from an interview, whether in personal or by phone, offers questions and you can prepare a couple of different answers.

    Just keep looking for another job opportunity, don't lose hope. My hubs also looking for another job in another company hopefully he can find one soon.
