Just 4 Fun and Returns Accepted

February 20th, 2011 at 07:43 pm

Friday night while I was driving home I was thinking about something I thought might be fun. A Just 4 Fun (J4F) question I will post, it will probably be silly or strange, but it's just for fun! Big Grin

***Would you choose Oatmeal or Malt O' Meal/Cream of Wheat?***

---------------------------------------------

I received email confirmation that both my state and federal returns have been accepted. Now I am waiting for my money. Big Grin

Malt O' Meal for me.
I love oatmeal, but Malt O' Meal is so YUMMY!

I remember Malt o Meal as a kid, but haven't had it in quite some time. I would pick Oatmeal! Smile

I eat oatmeal more often because it's something the whole family enjoys. But I think I prefer cream o' wheat--I just don't enjoy preparing my own cereal! LOL. But I used to have microwave cream o' wheat all the time at work, with a bit of brown sugar. (As a kid, it was with chocolate syrup!)

Oatmeal, here, hands down. The more flavored, the better - tho not better for the diet!

Big Grin Thanks for playing ladies!!

CCFree - You're overdue for some Malt O Meal!

CeeJay - Chocolate syrup? Haven't tried that.

momcents - I love a pat of butter in my hot cereals! And brown sugar.

Definately Cream of Wheat. Yum! In fact, I had it for dinner twice this past week. I like it sweetened with honey. I make wheat toast, spoon some cream of wheat on, and take a bite. It's delicious.

And btw, off topic, but I just noticed in your sidebar that you would like to do an Alaskan cruisetour. Have you checked out vacationstogo.com? My family got a great deal on an Alaskan cruise one year. I had been eyeing a particular Princess cruise costing $2600 per person for years, and found it on vacations to go for $999 per person. They have cruisetours too, and all cruise lines.

Oatmeal, but only if it's in something, like granola (or cookies!) I don't care for the texture of oatmeal prepared as a cereal. I've never actually had cream of wheat cereal, but I imagine I'd feel similarly about the texture.

Petunia - Thanks! I'll check that out.

LuckyRobin - Cream of Wheat and Malt O' Meal are both a smooth creamy texture. Not lumpy like oatmeal can be. Add some butter while it's cooking and it makes a richer flavor.

What the heck is a malt o' meal?

I like oatmeal! I've never even had cream of wheat...

Wowits - Malt O Meal is a hot creamy cereal made of malted wheat (tiny bits of wheat).

Dmontngrey - Time to try something new?

I eat oatmeal just about everyday. Love it! Smile
But ... when I was younger my mom would make a piece of jelly toast and serve malt-o-meal on top. YUM! I don't know why I don't do that myself ... just have lots of oatmeal I guess. Smile

Yum. Irish, steel-cut oatmeal for me, with a spoonful of peanut butter and a spoonful of honey, thank you. That was always one of my favorite breakfasts from when I was a kid, and it's one of the few tastes I share with my father. Smile
Wow, that really leads to a lot of memories. Isn't it crazy how people associate something like this with childhood so often? Food and drink are one of the things that offers some insurance of pleasant memories... or unpleasant ones. I have a friend who will never again drink ginger ale because she associates it with chemotherapy when she had breast cancer. So, it goes both ways!
