Pays to Check the Junk Mail

March 21st, 2012 at 09:44 pm

As I was sorting through the mail pile on the table last night I looked at a mailer from our cable company (Comcast). The front of it was like "Thanks for being a customer" and it was a brochure-y type talking about the movies available to rent thru them. But the cool part was on the inside cover was three codes for me to use to "rent" three movies. I enter the code online and they credit my account up to $5.99 to cover each movie. Cool hu?

We "rent" movies occasionally (3 to 4/year), but the past two weekends we've rented one each Saturday. Now those are free! Big Grin

I am going to add that $10 to our EF.

Very cool! Though can you believe how expensive movie downloads from cable companies have become? We used to watch movies on demand when they were $2.99 per rental, but moved to RedBox when they went up to, now $5.99.

Of course, RedBox used to be .99 cents per rental and it's now $1.20, so they're on the upward move too, unfortunately!
